The Welsh footballer will try to help Los Blancos to bounce back from a two-goal deficit when they host Wolfsburg in the second leg of the tournament's Quarter finals.

Real Madrid fans could've watched the best version of Gareth Bale, if injuries hadn't hit him while playing his best.

In an interview with UEFA's website ahead of the second leg of the Champions League clash against Wolfsburg, the Welshman blamed his frequent injuries as the reason why he hasn't shown his best form consistently for Los Blancos.

"It's been a bit of an annoying season in a way – just a few little slight injuries which have interrupted my form, especially when I was playing really well," Bale told UEFA.com

The Welshman had scored five goals during Zidane's first three games with Los Blancos, when he came down with his second calf injury of the season.

Despite having won the tournament two years ago, the drive to excel in the continental competition makes Bale work his hardest to win it again.

"I think no matter what trophy it is, you want to win it, whether you've won it before or not. We'll be going into every game in the Champions League trying to win every game, and trying to lift the trophy once again," the player added.

The former Tottenham player also referred to Real's hopes of winning La Liga. The footballer didn't seem too confident of Los Blancos' chances of cutting Barcelona's lead short, but that doesn't mean they won't keep trying to do that.

"I think we know we're a little bit behind in the league, but we still have to keep fighting until the last whistle. We're going to fight as hard as we can to win every game, and hopefully that will take us where we want to be," the player concluded.
