Di Maria has vowed to revenge against The Citizens in their UCL quarter-final tie.

Angel Di Maria has promised to ''hit Man City where it hurts’’ when Les Parisiens face The Citizens for their second-leg UEFA Champions League tie at the Etihad Stadium.

The French giants registered a 2-2 draw against Manuel Pellegrini’s men in the first leg fixture played at the Parc des Princes last Wednesday.

According to The Mirror, the ex-Man United and Real Madrid star said:

“We need to play the way we know how: control the ball, attack and take the chances that come our way.

"That’s how we’ve won our matches up until this point. It’s our style. Our opponents use up a lot of energy chasing the ball and then we hit them where it hurts.

He then added:

“The first match is always tough because the two teams don’t know each other, you have to work each other out. The second leg will be different. We need to try to play better.

“It’s a shame to have conceded those two goals at the Parc, which does make it more difficult to try to qualify. It won’t be easy to win in Manchester, but we have the players capable of scoring and getting the result we need.

“Obviously it won’t be easy, because Manchester City are a great side, but we have to do our best to win this match.”

Meanwhile, the skilful Argentine has once again blasted Man United manager Louis Van Gaal for allegedly playing him out of position and limiting his freedom on the pitch, unlike it is the case at PSG. The 28-year-old had a difficult season at Old Trafford, which was characterised by a series of injuries, being played out of position, and one particular incident when his house was targeted by burglars. Speaking about his time with the Red Devils under the Dutch tactician, he said:

“It’s not nice to say certain things, but it’s more that they didn’t let me settle properly than I couldn’t settle.”

The speedy winger then heaped praise on PSG boss Laurent Blanc for realizing his true potential and playing him at the right position. He added:

“From the beginning he was clear where he wanted to play me and has never changed his mind.

“He gave me total freedom to move where I needed to move.

“I’m very happy here and it wasn’t the case over there [at Old Trafford].”

Indeed, Di Maria looks happier at the French capital having scored 9 Lique 1 goals in 24 appearances this season, and provided 11 assists. In the Champions League, he has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 8 appearances. On the contrary, at Man United, he only scored 3 goals in 27 appearances.
