Here are the top four player battles to expect on Wednesday, as the Citizens make the trip to the French capital with several star names absent

On Wednesday, heavyweights will clash, as PSG gear up for an encounter with Manchester City - dubbed El Cashico.

Regardless, an exciting affair can be expected, with the Citizens set to make the trip to Parc des Princes for the 1st of two quarter-final legs.

Manuel Pellegrini has been rocked by a recent wave of injuries which rules out Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany for the all-important fixture, though Joe Hart and Fabian Delph appear fit and ready for a return to action.

Here are four key battles ahead of the Champions League tie.

Zlatan vs Aguero

The PSG striker has featured in 8 games in Europe this campaign whilst the Man City ace has only made 5 appearances. This is why the Swede boasts 8 goals to his name compared to the Argentine’s 5.

Ibrahimovic also has more attempted shots, with 32 to 15, but Sergio has the better accuracy at 46% to Zlatan’s 41%.

Di Maria vs Sterling

The two attacking midfielders have both featured in all 8 games and have 2 assists each, but here is where the similarities end and where the Argentine marches ahead.

Angel has 15 key passes under his belt, but Raheem isn’t far behind with 12. The pass completion gap isn’t great either, with Di Maria coming in at 86% and Sterling at 82%

However, it is in successful take-ons that El Fideo dominates, with his 67.5% beating out the Englishman’s 44.44% tally.

Kevin Trapp vs Joe Hart

Despite having more experience at top-level football, Trapp boasts better numbers than Hart in almost every category.

The PSG custodian has kept 5 clean sheets in 8 games; the Man City goalie has only 1. The German has only conceded 3 goals so far; the Englishman has let in 9.

Trapp even has 26 saves to his name, compared to Hart’s 18.

David Luiz vs Otamendi

With Kompany unlikely to feature, Otamendi will be the go to man in the back four, as well as David Luiz. The Argentine center-back has made 5 blocks so far, compared to the Brazilian’s 2.

The Man City man wins 1.75 tackles per game; the PSG ace wins 1.5. However, Luiz makes more interceptions every 90 minutes, with 2.67 compared to Otamendi’s 2.5.
