Porto vs Tondela
With Benfica seeming to be unstoppable right now, Porto will be hoping to close the gap on the reigning Primeria Liga champions as they prepare to take on relegation candidates Tondela later today. The Dragons last won the coveted title in the 2012/2013 season, and since then, have had to take a backseat and watch as the Eagles reigned supreme as Portugal's number one side.
Nine points behind Rui Vitoria's side, Porto's inconsistency this season could very well be their downfall. The team, now led by José Peseiro after Julen Lopetegui's sacking had a pretty solid 2015, and in fact, headed into the Christmas break at the top of the table. However, since the start of this year, the Dragons seem to have trouble keeping their winning run going, with a budding winning streak snapped by a frustrating loss.
The hosts will be coming into this game having won their past two matches and will be hoping to make it a third for the first time in the second half of this current term. Meanwhile, a look at the table will show that their upcoming opponents Tondela are bottom of the table, and with a dismal 14 points, the Primeira Liga debutants look set for a return to the lower division.
However, in their first ever meeting, Porto did not have it as easy as many would have thought. Although the Dragons picked up all three points, but it was a 1-0 victory as opposed to the blowout their fans will certainly have anticipated. All in all, they can certainly not afford to drop any points later today if they want to have a glimmer of hope in catching Benfica at the table's summit.

Belenenses vs Sporting CP
Currently sandwiched between Benfica and Porto, Jorge Jesus's Sporting CP perhaps have the fortune of playing after both of their challengers of the league title. Or perhaps not, given that should Porto win, they will be under added pressure to pick up three points of their own on the road.
If Porto's wait for a Primeira Liga title seems like an eternity to Dragons fans, Lions fans have had it worse. The last time Sporting CP won the domestic crown was during the 2001/2002 campaign. With the ex-Benfica tactician at thec club, they are hoping that he will be able to bring some of that golden touch that helped the Eagles reign supreme in Portuguese football.
Sporting CP, who clinched the Portuguese Super Cup at the expense of Jesus's former side Benfica earlier this season, will arrive at their opponents' home ground having won their past two games. Naturally, the Lions will be keen on putting some distance between themselves and Porto, all whilst putting more pressure on Benfica at the top of the table.
As for Belenenses, they presently find themselves in a safe, but not remarkable 11th place. The hosts, who hold the unique distinction of being only one of two sides other than the "Big Three" to win the Primeira Liga title, have won just one out of their past five games, and lost ths reverse fixture earlier this season.
