The Mexican striker came in from the bench to score Bayer Leverkusen's second goal against Wolfsburg. He is now fourth in the Bundesliga's goal scoring charts.

Mexican striker Javier Hernández returned from the international break on fire, scoring one goal and assisting for another in Bayer Leverkusen's win against Wolfsburg. "Chicharito" didn't start the game for Die Werkself due to his activity with El Tri, but he immediately made his presence felt on the pitch by contributing to Bayer's third win in a row.

With today's win, Bayer Leverkusen could end the weekend in the Bundesliga's fourth spot, boosting their chances to finish the season in UEFA Champions League spots.

Hernández came into the pitch after 50 minutes, and he came close to scoring with two chances five minutes after coming on. After 70 minutes, "Chicharito" struck the ball from outside the box and sent it straight to the left hand post of Diego Benaglio's goal and into the back of the net.

This was "Chicharito's" 24th goal this season, his highest total as a professional. With his strike today, Hernández keeps himself in the hunt for the Bundesliga's goal scoring title, four goals behind the third place, Thomas Müller.
