Angel Di Maria added more controversy to his departure from Manchester United after blaming coach Louis Van Gaal for his sloppy performance with the Red Devils.

In an interview with BBC, the Argentinean striker revealed that Louis Van Gaal's continuous tactical changes, which forced him to play in different parts of the pitch, were one of the main reasons why he tanked as one of Manchester United's signings last season.

"It's up to the manager to decide where and how every player should play, but I think that the player should be comfortable in that position and adapt to it," Di Maria stated.

The player even went further by stating he was sure the team wouldn't prosper under LVG, forcing him to search for other employment opportunities.

It's not nice to say certain things, but it's more that they didn't let me settle properly than I couldn't settle. I left and that team are still playing the same way. Struggling with some problems away from the pitch,Angel Di Maria left Old Trafford to join Paris Saint Germain, where he has shown his old form and has created a partnership with Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front. The former Real Madrid wingman shared his views on the reasons of his success with Les Parisiens, thanking coach Laurent Blanc for his influence.

"I'm very thankful to the manager for it. From the beginning he was clear where he wanted to play me and has never changed his mind. He gave me total freedom to move where I needed to move. I'm very happy here and it wasn't the case over there,"Di Maria concluded.
