England went down 2-1 to Netherlands in an international friendly at a time when many fans and pundits had expected the Three Lions to roar even louder following their 3-2 win over World Champions Germany.
Roy Hodgson’s men looked seemingly tired and quite unmotivated as they hosted Danny Blind’s men at their backyard. Leicester City’s danger man Jamie Vardy had opened the score sheet for the hosts in the 41st minute but his efforts were not enough to rescue at least a point against the underdogs.
In the second-half, goals from Vincent Janssen and Luciano Narsingh in the 50th and 77th minute respectively were enough to condemn the hosts to an embarrassing defeat. With the likes of Daniel Sturridge failing to make an impact in the game, the visitors were bound to win anyway.
Rooney may be needed in this England team after all. Sturridge not his best night against a poor Dutch team. #MUFC #ENGHOL

Milner can't play the midfield central like Ali. I'd stick Milner on the right when needed. Don't take Sturridge n Welbeck there both same

Back from the England game lack of creativity big time, Kane ahead of Sturridge every time and drinkwater was so solid

what's the point in taking sturridge to the euros anyway, he'll most likely get injured

The lacklustre performance did not go well with some English fans, who believed that the team could have performed better ahead of their Euro 2016 games. Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter:

vs Germany: "After that, we've actually got a decent chance to win the Euros!"
vs Holland: "We're so s**t, Hodgson out."
