Both center backs had to leave the game against Dynamo before the 30-minute mark, giving the Sky Blues' coach more than a headache ahead of Sunday's derby.

Manchester City's fans have reasons to be worried ahead of Sunday's City of Manchester derby, as both of their top-choice center backs had to leave their game against Dynamo Kyiv in the first half of the game.

Vincent Kompany left the pitch with what seemed to be a calf strain just after six minutes of playing time. His substitution broke a franchise record, as no other player had been subbed off the pitch earlier than the Belgian defender.

But that wasn't all for Manuel Pellegrini's crew, as misfortune hit his side hard before the 30-minute mark when Nicolas Otamendi failed to recover from a knock to his right leg, and left the pitch hobbling into the dugout.

These news haven't been well taken by Man City's supporters, considering their two star defenders will surely have to miss Sunday's clash against the Red Devils, with the 4th spot of the EPL at stake.

Here's what fans and experts had to say about the Citizens' misfortunes.

"Kompany is the team captain with less playing time in a UCL game, matching Frederic Dehu's stats(sent off after 6 minutes back in 1998)"
