The Argentinean striker was only able to play for ten minutes against Bologna last Saturday, creating a huge gap for the Neroazzurri side up front.

Just when things were getting tough for Inter Milan, one of their key footballers will be sidelined due to injury.

The Neroazzurri side revealed today that Mauro Icardi, the team's top scorer, will be ruled out for a month after picking up a knee ligament injury against Bologna last Saturday. The Argentinean was only able to play for ten minutes against the Rossoblu, and even though they were able win the game with a 2-1 score, his presence will be sorely missed when they travel to Stadio Olimpico for their match against Roma.

Icardi has scored twelve goals in 26 Serie A games for Roberto Mancini's crew, who slipped from the first place of the Italian tournament to the fifth spot in a matter of weeks. Saturday's clash against Roma seems crucial for their hopes of returning to the UEFA Champions League, and Icardi's injury means a big blow for the team's chances.

The team's Twitter feed revealed the news to their supporters.

With Icardi's injury, all of Inter's hopes of success will be based on what recently signed striker Eder can do, since Stevan Jovetic has been sidelined with a thigh injury since February, and Icardi's compatriot Rodrigo Palacio will have to serve a one match ban against Roma after picking up a yellow card last Saturday.
