After crushing Troyes 9-0, PSG are now the Ligue 1 champions for a fourth straight season. We take a look at some stats and facts from their highly succesful domestic campaign.

On Sunday, March 13th, PSG took on Troyes in a clash between the top and bottom ranked sides in Ligue 1. As such, this was expected to be an already lopsided game, especially given that the hosts have won just two games all season. And with second-placed Monaco being held to a 2-2 draw with Reims, the stage was set for Laurent Blanc's men to finally wrap up the title race.

Well, Les Parisiens did so in emphatic fashion, absolutely annihilating Troyes 9-0 to clinch their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title with eight games to spare. It has been arguably their most successful domestic campaign to date, and now that the Ligue 1 trophy is set to remain in Paris, we take a look at ten interesting stats and facts from PSG's impressive season.

1. Laurent Blanc is now the most decorated manager in PSG's history

With Sunday's triumph, Laurent Blanc has won nine titles across all competitions with Les Parisiens. Given that PSG are still in the Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue, and Champions League, the former defender could hit double digits in trophies before the end of this season.

Having retained the Ligue 1 title, Blanc could clinch more trophies by the time this season ends

2. Biggest road win in Ligue 1 history

This weekend's contest was already over in the first 20 minutes, but Les Parisiens were not done yet. Having scored nine goals against Troyes, the capital giants have recorded the best ever away victory in Ligue 1 history.

3. Getting the job done with plenty of time to spare

By cruising to a comfortable win over Troyes, it took the capital giants just 30 games to wrap up the title. This makes PSG the fastest team to clinch the league crown over the past two decades.

4. No problems with winning on the road, too

The emphatic 9-0 win against Troyes is PSG's 13th road victory, and with 3 more to go, they can definitely add more to this record-breaking tally.

5. Getting close to hitting that 89 point mark...

So far, PSG have 77 points. They need just 13 to surpass the record for most points in a season, set by themselves during the 2013/2014 campaign.

With eight games remaining, Blanc's squad will surely reach at least 90 points by the time May rolls around.

6. They keep on winning, winning, winning

From December 4, 2015 to February 28, 2016, PSG won nine games on the trot, until it was snapped by Lyon. This ties the record set by Marseille between February 15, 2009 and August 8, 2009.

7. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still setting records, despite his advancing years

The big Swede grabbed a poker in Sunday's lopsided tie and is the second fastest player to hit a century of goals, taking just 115 games to achieve this. In addition, on October 4, 2015, his brace against Marseille helped him to become PSG's all-time top goalscorer. Ibrahimovic is still the only player to have scored a poker for Les Parisiens both in the Champions League (against Anderlecht on October 23, 2013) and Ligue 1 (against Troyes on March 13th).

With 141 goals and counting, Ibrahimovic has taken just four seasons to become PSG's all time goal-scorer

8. Denied the chance to set one record, but set another one nonetheless

Although the loss to Lyon denied PSG a chance to become the first team to finish a Ligue 1 campaign sans defeat, they nonetheless set a new record: for the most games unbeaten. Between March 15, 2015 and February 28, 2016 Blanc's men managed to string together an impressive 36-game streak.

9. So, they're actually last in something?

PSG may have the most goals in the league, but they certainly do not have the most fouls. So far, Les Parisiens have committed 34, which puts them tied with Montpellier at the bottom of the table. At home, they are last, with 14, and on the road, second to last with 20.

Ajaccio, by contrast, have nearly double that, with 65 committed so far.

10. Scoring many and conceding rarely

Currently, the best goal differential (for a 20 league format) is +63. This was achieved by Reims during the 1959/1960 season. PSG, with eight matches to go, have a +62 differential. Expect them to set a new record by the end of this campaign.

And finally, a bonus fact:

11. They still have a long way to go...

Having won their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title, PSG truly have dominated French football over the past few seasons. However, they are not the team with the most back-to-back league crowns.

Despite winning the Ligue 1 title in record-breaking fashion, PSG still have some ways to go to match two other clubs' success

That honor belongs to the club that ended their chances of finishing this season without a defeat: Lyon. Between 2002 and 2008, Les Gones won seven Ligue 1 trophies, meaning that Les Parisiens will need to win it four more times in order to surpass this.

They are also not the most decorated club in France, as Saint-Etienne has won ten Ligue 1 titles. With this being their sixth, PSG will have to top the league on five additional occasions.

Will they be able to do so? Well, given the way they absolutely cruised the title this season, it certainly is not impossible!

Could this be the season that close friends Zlatan and Maxwell conquer Europe together? Perhaps...
