For most teams, picking up one point from their last two games could see them tumble a few spots down the table. However, fortunately for Bayern Munich fans, die Roten are still on top of the charts, despite losing and drawing their most recent duo of fixtures. Yet, regardless of this, Pep Guardiola will be demanding a much-improved performance from his squad ahead of their round of 16 second leg against Juventus next week.

Bayern Munich will be coming into this game having won just one out of their past four games across all competitions. Having drawn Borussia Dortmund in last weekend's Klassiker, the Bavarian powerhouse have seen their lead over die Schwarzgelben cut to five, meaning that another negative result for them could allow Dortmund back into the title race.
Fortunately, the team they will be welcoming to the Allianz Arena - Werder Bremen - has not defeated them since September 2008. However, with their European fixture coming up, he may opt to rotate his squad to keep important players fresh for the midweek game against Juventus; alternatively, knowing that he must pick up a win from this game, he could opt to field his usual starting XI.
Werder Bremen
Meanwhile, Werder Bremen have been in a much improved vein of form as of late. As a result of two impressive back to back 4-1 wins over Hannover and Bayer Leverkusen, Viktor Skripnik's side have moved into 13th place and are six points away from the drop zone. However, as noted before, they have lost their past ten matches against Bayern - which is their longest losing sequence against any other Bundesliga opponent - and will arrive in Munich without one of their star players.
Unfortunately, Claudio Pizarro will not be able to make his return to the Allianz Arena for the first time since departing last summer as he is struggling with an injury. This will come as a big blow for his team, as he was responsible for three out of their four goals in their demolition of Bayer Leverkusen, becoming the oldest ever player to net a hat-trick in the Bundesliga in the process. The 37-year-old Peruvian star is joined on the treatment table by others such as Aron Johannsson and Philipp Bargfred, and both Zlatko Junuzovic as well as Clemens Fritz will be out due to suspension.
Given their bad track record against Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen will be hoping that the reigning Bundesliga champions will be distracted by their big European game coming up as they seek to pull off what would be a shock upset.
