La Liga giants Real Madrid as said to be gearing up for one of the biggest transfers in the history of world football.

Spanish publication Marca has released a shocking list of world-class superstars who could join Real Madrid at the end of the season. This comes just  a few days after Sport reported that Los Blancos were gearing up for a total ‘cleanup’ in their current squad, which would see the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo released.

Marca’s report further claims that Zinedine Zidane is looking at the prospects of bringing in 12 new superstars at the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the 2016/17 season, and has contacted some of the players mentioned in the list. Although no official deals have been confirmed, some of the contacts are said to be willing to begin negotiations at the end of the season.

Some of the most notable players linked with a move to the Spanish giants at the end of the season include Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang from Borussia Dortmund, Leroy Sane from Schalke 04, Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg and David Alaba from Bayern Munich. The La Liga bigwigs are planning to boost their defence by bringing in Marquinhos from French giants PSG and Aymeric Laporte from Athletico Bilbao.

Here are the 12 players courtesy of Marca.

Real Madrid transfer targetsBarcelona superstar Neymar has also been identified in the report as one of the men who will lead Los Blanco’s attack next season alongside Italian midfielder Paul Pogba. As superstitious or ridiculous as it sounds, one thing is quite clear; Los Blancos fans should expect massive signings next season. All said and done, only time will tell if the Spanish moneybags have the capacity to pull such an audacious move when the transfer market officially opens.
