Three months remain before the competition kick starts this summer, but the game’s cover boy has already been released.

Euro 2016 – being held in France from June 10 until July 10 – is still three months away from kick off, but famous football video game franchise Pro Evolution Soccer have already released the cover of their special edition for the summer tournament.

Several big name players will star in the continental competition, with the likes of three-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, 2014 World Cup winner Mesut Ozil, Bayern Munich goalscoring machine Robert Lewandowski, and Premier League legend Wayne Rooney destined to feature.

However, none of the aforementioned players were chosen as PES Euro 2016 cover boy. Instead the Konami-produced video game chose none other than the world’s most expensive player Gareth Bale to grace their cover.

It is a befitting choice, given that the former Tottenham superstar is a man whose stocks is growing rapidly, shining for Real Madrid this season despite injuries and having helped his national side book their ticket to France.

The 26-year-old scored 7 out of Wales’ 11 goals in the Euro qualifying stage, whilst also bagging 2 assists en route to making Group B, where they will face England, Russia, and Slovakia.
