The New York Red Bulls will resume action this weekend as they welcome Toronto FC to the Red Bull Arena on Sunday, March 6th. Here are some live TV listings & online streaming options for New York RB vs Toronto FC.

After a long hiatus, the 2016 Major League Soccer season is finally under way, and today officially marks the day that fans have long been waiting for. This Super Sunday will feature numerous matches, including the New York Red Bulls taking on Toronto FC in what should be a game full of end-to-end-action at the Red Bull Arena later today.

Last season saw the Red Bulls come up short in the MLS Cup as Portland Timbers went on to clinch the trophy. Nonetheless, they gave their disappointed supporters something to possibly cheer about by winning the Supporters' Shield, but more will be expected of Jesse Marsch's side during this current campaign.

Fortunately, most of the core squad still remains, with the only notable departure being American international Matt Miazga to Chelsea during this winter's transfer market. In his stead arrives Ghanaian defender Gideon Baah, who opted to swap the Veikkausliiga (Finnish football's top tier) and HJK Helsinki for a chance to feature in the United States with one of MLS's biggest teams.

Due to the long break between the end of last season and the start of this one, many MLS teams participate in an extended pre-season tour, and the Red Bulls are no exception. Over the course of the past few months, they have featured in a total of eight scrimmages and pre-season fixtures, all contested, naturally, in the much more favorable climate of Orlando, Jacksonville, and Clearwater, Florida and experienced mixed results, including beating fellow MLS side Montreal Impact 5-0 but losing 3-2 to Orlando FC.

Last season, the Red Bulls picked up an impressive 60 points to top both the Eastern conference and the entire division, and they naturally will be seeking to continue in this same vein of form this term. Still, they will be facing a tough opponent this Sunday in Toronto FC, who, despite finishing in sixth in the Eastern conference and 12th overall in the league, boast one of the most in-form strikers in MLS.

After departing Italy for Canada, not many expected Sebastian Giovinco to have the impact that he did during his debut term. In fact, most figured that after failing to nail down a consistent starting spot with Juventus, where he had spent his youth career, Giovinco had opted to chase the money instead of trying to fight for a first-team place with the Bianconeri or another European team.

Certainly, given that he was signed on a five-year deal that netted him about $7 million per season - many times more than he was making in Turin - the move to Toronto, especially for a player in the prime of his career raised quite a few eyebrows. Well, a year later, he has now re-established himself on the footballing landscape and although he was not able to guide the Reds to any trophies, the 29-year-old, nicknamed the "Atomic Ant" by some sections of the Italian press enjoyed his best ever season to date. With 22 goals, he was tied with Columbus Crew's Sierra Leonean striker Kei Kamara at the top of the scoring charts, but thanks to a whopping 16 assists, clinched the coveted Golden Boot.

In doing so, Giovinco became the first player from Tornoto FC to win the top goalscorer prize, and also picked up two additional awards - MLS Newcomer of the Year Award, and the MLS MVP Award - whilst guiding his team to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in their history. Now in his sophomore year in MLS, Giovinco's coach Greg Vanney will be relying heavily on the Italian international as Toronto hope to improve their standings and progress further in the MLS Cup this season.
