As perennial rivals Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund clash on Saturday in what is famously known as Der Klassiker, LiveSoccerTV brings you everything you need to know about this crucial fixture.

Some few weeks ago, many fans and pundits believed that Bayern had already wrapped up the title due to the huge gap between them and second placed Dortmund. However, the famous loss to Mainz 05 blew the title race wide open. The Bavarians are now separated from BVB by five points only, and the gap could be reduced to two if the hosts win today’s derby at the Signal Iduna Park.

A win for the visitors could effectively secure their fourth consecutive Bundesliga title but Dortmund are not willing to give them a walk in the park on their way to lifting the coveted gong.

WATCH: Tuchel and Pep share their views ahead of the much-anticipated derby

Thomas Tuchel’s men approach this fixture having won their last seven games in all competitions. After their weekday win over Darmstadt, coach Tuchel admitted that although the gap between them and the league leaders was quite huge, they still had the chance to reduce it. On the other hand, Pep Guardiola, after the defeat to Mainz, admitted that the current Dortmund squad was more dangerous than the ones they have witnessed over the past few years. Dortmund stand a high chance of upsetting the Bundesliga giants in order to revive their hopes of winning the title.

Team news

Borussia Dortmund

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Roman Burki could miss this fixture due to injury and illness respectively. Sven Bender could replace Sokratis at the centre-back. Marco Reus is expected to return at the midfield after being rested during their win over Darmstadt, and the same case applies to Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Bayern Munich

The Bavarians will play without Holger Badstuber, Javi Martinez and Jerome Boateng. Medhi Benatia could, however, start at the back. Xabi Alonso and Arturo Vidal could start at the central midfield as Douglas Costa, Kingsley Coman and Franck Ribery battle for the left-win.
