Augsburg will try to take advantage of Bayer Leverkusen's injury problems when they host Die Werkself at Impuls Arena. Don't miss this game with our detailed guide below.

Two down-on-their-luck teams will meet against each other this Saturday, trying to get out of their current funk. FC Augsburg, winless in their two most recent games, will host Bayer Leverkusen, an injury-depleted side that has lost three games in a row.

The hosts have made a habit out of languishing in the lower part of the Bundesliga standings, while Bayer Leverkusen's downfall has seen them drop from the third spot to the seventh in a matter of weeks, giving away games in which they were considered favorites.

In their previous games, Augsburg wasn't able to hold on to a 1-1 draw after a late goal by Hoffenheim's Kevin Volland, while Bayer Leverkusen was no match for Werder Bremen, a team that eliminated them from the DFB Pokal two weeks ago and handed them a 4-1 defeat at BayArena.

Augsburg

FCA has lacked the much needed consistency to become an Europa League contender for next season, following their short stint in the tournament this year. Markus Weinzierl's side needs to add points to their tally, but they will have to do so without key players such as Daniel Baier and Piotr Trochowski.

Bayer Leverkusen

Die Werkself haven't been themselves lately, losing a large amount of games in all competitions. Following their success in the Europa League back in February, Roger Schmidt's side hasn't found its feet in the domestic tournament, losing against Borussia Dortmund, Mainz and Werder Bremen. This weekend's game won't come easy for them, as the red-and-black side will be missing key players due to injury, including striker Stefan Kiessling, Kevin Kampl and Omer Toprak. The team's top scorer, "Chicharito" Hernández, will also miss this game due to a one match ban, but his absence will help him recover from a number of injuries that had forced him to slow down in the past weeks.

Head to head

Augsburg and Bayer Leverkusen have played 11 games between them, with Die Werkself winning eight of them. In fact, Augsburg's only win against their visitors on Saturday came on a friendly match four years ago. Bayer has walked out of Impuls Arena with all the points in four of their five visits.
