It seems there is no love lost between Arturo Vidal and his former side Juventus FC ahead of their Champions League match.

Former Juventus star Arturo Vidal has revealed that he is sad about the idea of facing his former side in the last round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. Vidal, a former Juventus man, claims that he has ‘mixed feelings’ ahead of the crucial encounter with his former side in Turin.

This will be the first time the Chilean will be facing his former side since moving to the Allianz Arena last summer. He made 124 appearances for the Old Lady and scored 35 goals between 2011 and 2015.  He also featured for his former side in last year’s Champions League final against Barcelona, and despite losing to the Spanish giants, his sterling performance attracted the interest of top European clubs.

The Bavarian giants finally managed to sign him on July 28, 2015 for 37 million Euros. Prior to joining the Bundesliga defending champions, the 28-year-old had also played for Bayer Leverkusen between 2007 and 2011, before joining Juventus.

In a pre-match interview, he said:

“It’s a very special game for me because I’m very grateful to Juve and I still have a lot of affection for them,” Vidal said. “I had four incredible years there and felt at home there – the fans and people loved me and I loved them because they always supported me.

“I would have preferred to have met Juventus only in the semi-final or final because I still have a lot of affection for this club. I follow practically all of their games because I like Italian football. I wasn’t happy with the draw, but that’s football.”

Interestingly, Juventus’ forward Mario Mandzukic will also be facing his former side Bayern Munich when the two sides clash at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday.
