Former Brazil international Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima has backed his counterpart Neymar Jr to succeed Lionel Messi at FC Barcelona. The 24-year-old has been in sensational form for the Blaugrana this season, as part of the deadly MSN forward line, which includes the lethal duo of Messi and Suarez. In an interview with Calciomercato, the Brazil legend revealed:
"I like Neymar a lot. He is a bit like me
"He had some difficulties in getting used to his new environment at first, but I knew that he was going to succeed."
He added:
"Can he be Messi's heir? Yes, he has everything he needs to become as strong as him."
The former Real Madrid and FC Barcelona player also hinted that the current Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane could guide the Spanish giants to greater success in the future. Zidane has not lost a match since he took over from Rafael Benitez earlier this year.
