The talented midfielder apparently wants to listen to a few bids coming from English Premier League teams such as Liverpool and Arsenal.

German International Ilkay Gundogan will not put pen to paper on a new deal with Borussia Dortmund, with the midfielder keen on leaving the Bundesliga next summer.

The talented box-to-box player, who was heavily linked to join Manchester United last summer, has an ongoing contract with the yellow-and-black side until the conclusion of the 2016-2017 season. After refusing to sign for another year, the player told Dortmund execs he will search for other opportunities, as sources told Bild.

"Gundogan has been refusing to agree fresh terms after protracted talks with the club. And now, the 25-year-old has told Dortmund he will definitely not be signing a new deal," Bild reported earlier today.

On February 5th, the German midfielder admitted negotiations to sign a new deal with the Revolutionär had been stalled for quite some time, and if he couldn't reach an agreement with the club, the best option for him would be to walk away this summer.

Gundogan has been one of the most effective players for Borussia Dortmund ever since the club reached the 2012-2013 UEFA Champions League final coached by Jürgen Klopp. The midfielder was one of Joachim Löw's options to play in the 2014 World Cup, but a back injury prevented him from playing in Brazil. Since then, Gundogan has played a major role in the team's performances, which include playing 20 of Dortmund's 21 games in the Bundesliga season so far.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus have been reported as potential landing spots for the talented midfielder, but Borussia Dortmund may keep on trying to sign a contract extension with the 25-year-old.
