Many USA fans overlook Bob Bradley’s credibility as a coach, but striker Edson Buddle – who, ironically, has been overlooked by the boss for the team’s upcoming matches – has other opinions…
The LA Galaxy player was on fire at the start of the MLS season, scoring as much as 9 goals in his side’s first 6 games. However, his form recently hasn’t been the best – which is why he was excluded from the USA’s man squad that will face Poland. The striker admitted in an interview with MLSsoccer.com.

“I would love to be at that camp, but I’m not playing my greatest right now. So, I’m not too disappointed. I’m coming off a hamstring injury, and being in that environment would probably put some stress on my hamstring anyway.”

Following USA’s 2010 World Cup last 16 exit, speculations about the future of Coach Bob Bradley resounded everywhere. A vast portion of USA supporters questioned the manager’s ability to help the Americans achieve their goals in the world of football, and names such as Guus Hiddink became some people’s choice as a replacement for the criticized Bob Bradley.

When Aston Villa’s Martin O’Neil resigned as the boss of the Villains earlier in the summer, rumors suggested that the current USA coach could succeed O’Neil and thus fulfill his wish of working in England.

However, in a way or another, Bob Bradley and the USA’s Football Federation have managed to stick together and the manager’s new deal should keep him in charge of the United States’ national soccer team until the end of the year 2014. Edson Buddle explaiend he was one of those out there supporting the 52-year-old head coach following his declaration:

“I think that Bradley getting picked up [for another term with the USA] is great. He is really a soccer nut, and he puts a lot of thought into his decisions.

“I haven’t heard much talk yet [from other lads] about Brazil in 2014. But, I know that Bob is already working hard to prepare for that. It’s already in his mind.”

Edson Buddle, who is said to have been named after the legendary Pele, might play a greater role than he did in South Africa for the USA should they qualify for Brazil 2014. In the meantime, the Americans will face Poland in an international friendly match on Saturday.
