The impending arrival of Pep Guardiola to Man City has already sent shockwaves across various European clubs, including his former side FC Barcelona.

When Manchester City announced that they had finally procured the services of Pep Guardiola to take over the club next season, it was quite expected that he would bring with him some of the best players in Europe. There have been a few confessions from different footballers from various leagues across the world, who have openly admitted that they would love to work under the experienced manager.

Barely weeks after Barcelona superstar Neymar Jr announced his admiration for the outgoing Bayern Munich manager and his intention to work under him, his teammate Sergio Busquets has joined the Pep-Guardiola bandwagon.

Despite signing a new deal with Barca that keeps him at the club until 2019, the Spaniard still believes that it would be almost impossible to resist the urge to play under the celebrated manager.

The 27-year-old was named ‘the best midfielder in the world’ by coach Luis Enrique in November, but that did not sound good enough to stop him from looking at Pep’s direction. Speaking to ESPN Deportes, he said;

"I have always said there are just two persons who could make me change my decision to stay at Barcelona."

"One of those two persons is my wife. And she is happy here right now, so I don't think there will be any issues on a personal level.''

He added:

"On a sporting level, that other person is Guardiola. It's clear that I owe Pep a lot and I would be honored to work with him again.''

"He knows that Barcelona are my club and it's his club as well. He knows it's best for the club and for me to stay here and I don't think he will ask me to leave Barcelona.''

"I hope that when I end my career, I go down in history as a great team player, who won titles and excelled. I want to become one of the players with the most games for Barcelona."

Busquets has won five La Liga titles with Barca and three Champions Leagues. Barcelona face Valencia for their Copa del Rey second-leg semi-final fixture at the Mestalla Stadium.
