Roma will hope to close the gap on Inter and Fiorentina as they take on Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium on Tuesday, February 2nd. Here are some live TV listings & online streaming options for Sassuolo vs. Roma.

Both Sassuolo and Roma will be keen on earning all three points in this evening's fixture, but with different objectives in mind. For the Neroverdi, who have had a solid campaign thus far in their third year in Italian football's upper echelon, a Europa League spot is not outside the realm of possibility. Meanwhile, for the Giallorossi, Luciano Spaletti's side will take the Europa League but would rather see themselves finish among the top three sides in Italy, guaranteeing them Champions League football for the 2016/2017 season.

Sassuolo

Considering that Sassuolo only began playing top-flight football during the 2013/2014 campaign, Eusebio Di Francesco's men have done admirably so far. In their first season, they barely avoided relegation to Serie B. In their sophomore term, they finished in 12th, and currently, in their third year, sit in seventh, with 33 points and five away from a Europa Leauge spot.

Yet, after starting 2016 off well with a 1-0 win over Inter, the Neroverdi have slipped up, losing two and drawing one, meaning that they have only earned one victory out of their past five fixtures. As a consequence they have slipped further down the table, and more worrying for their fans is the fact that the team have not won a home game since edging out debutants Carpi 1-0 on November 8th. In addition, despite having drawn against Roma in three out of their past five meetings, all of those results have come at the Stadio Olimpico, meaning that Sassuolo have never beaten the Giallorossi at their own home ground.

In fact, not only have the Neroverdi failed to defeat Roma in their past two match-ups but also have yet to score a goal against the capital club at the Mapei Stadium. They will hope to buck this trend in order to arrest their downward trend of results in order to stay within touching distance of a top five spot.

Roma

Meanwhile, last weekend, Roma fans finally got what they had been desperately hoping to see: their team clinch all three points. Goals from Radja Nainggolan, new signing Stephan El Shaarawy, and Miralem Pjanic were enough to see off Frosinone and earn the Giallorossi their first win since beating Genoa 2-0 on December 20th and second victory since besting Lazio by the same scoreline in the Derby della Capitale on November 8th.

A series of frustrating draws and disappointing losses have seen Roma overtaken by Juventus and lose ground on the top two sides; indeed, many have effectively ruled them out of the Scudetto race, especially given the winning streaks both Napoli and the Bianconeri have been on recently. Still, with both Inter and Fiorentina stumbling, the Lupi have a golden opportunity to move level on points with the Nerazzurri and close the gap - albeit temporarily - on the Viola to just one point.

The victory last weekend was the first since Luciano Spalletti returned for a second spell with the club. Roma have not won two games on the trot since racking up 15 points out of 15 from September 26th to October 28th, after which their five match winning streak was snapped by Inter.

Unfortunately, the win over Frosinone came at a cost as Lucas Digne now joins the growing list of wounded warriors for Roma, who will also be missing Kevin Strootman, Iago Falque, Edin Dzeko, Alessandro Florenzi, and Vasilis Torosidis; additionally Kostas Manolas will miss out due to suspension.

Roma have enjoyed their last two trips to the Mapei Stadium, and Giallorossi fans will be hoping to see the team pick up another three points. However, Sassuolo will be keen on finally earning their first win over the capital club in front of their home fans and could throw a monkey wrench in Roma's aspirations to move closer to a Champions League spot.
