Manchester United are hoping to win the FA Cup this season, but they will first have to go past Derby County on Friday.

Under-fire manager Luis Van Gaal heads to the iPro Stadium on Friday hoping to inspire Man United to a win over Derby County in their FA Cup fixture. This crucial match comes at a time when the Dutch tactician is under pressure from all corners to resign following a series of poor results from the Red Devils.

It is for this reason that LVG will be hoping to mobilize his troops with the major aim of winning this crucial fixture that holds the hopes of their only silverware this season. Failure to beat Paul Clement’s side could increase Van Gaal’s chance of being fired and moreover, the Old Trafford side would have little left to fight for this season with the title race slowly becoming a four-horse race between Arsenal and Leicester City.

Despite losing three of their last five matches, the Rams could still cause an upset to their high-profile visitors on Friday. Although they have not drawn in any of their last 12 fixtures in the FA Cup, they could force a replay against Luis Van Gaal’s men. The hosts have soaked seven goals in their last two games, having lost 0-3 at home against Birmingham City and 4-1 to Burnley on Monday.

Additionally, the English giants have only lost one of their last 44 FA Cup games against lower-league opposition, which means that they have a lower chance of losing to their hosts on Friday.
