But who won? Was it the Real Madrid boss or the Portuguese attacker?

On late Tuesday, Spanish news outlet MARCA, citing Sportyou, revealed an interesting story surrounding Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and superstar attacker Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to the report, the Blancos boss challenged the Portuguese ace to a free-kick duel after seeing the 30-year-old practice his dead-ball shots, saying:

"Watch and learn how to take a free-kick."

The 1998 World Cup winner was a respected free-kick taker during his playing days, Cristiano also known for converting, as both were handed 10 shots in the face-off.

Who came out victorious? Was it the Real Madrid manager, or the three-time Ballon d’Or winner?

The result was a whitewash, with Zizou converting almost all of his attempts, whilst only two of the former Man United ace’s shots found the back of the net.

Ronaldo is notorious for not coping well with defeat, but as reported by Sportyou, the Portugal captain took it light-heartedly and even tried to piggyback Zidane as a prize.

This revelation goes the extra mile in proving that the relationship between Cristiano and the French legend is night and day in comparison to that of former manager Rafael Benitez.

The Blancos all-time leading scorer was no fan of the Spanish tactician, clashing with Rafa several times, even over a request by the former Napoli boss to take biometric study in order for Ronaldo to improve his free-kick technique.

In similar fashion, all the Real Madrid players have seemed to welcomed the appointing of Zidane, something which has translated into better performance on the pitch, having scored 10 goals in the first two games under the Frenchman.
