The confirmed absence of Arsenal’s injured captain Cesc Fabregas and goalkeeper Almunia has come out as good news to Chelsea fans. However, Florent Malouda still expects Arsene Wenger’s men to pose a big threat. After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City with the Blues, the French man has urged his team to prepare for the battle against the Gunners.
“We have to be in control, to put the ace into the game, and to focus on our game,” Malouda told talkSPORT.
“For them [Arsenal], it’s an away game, and many times, we’ve seen teams coming here and trying to close the game. Arsenal have always played the same way: a passing game.
“They have technical quality. It will be a big challenge for us to win against a team in the big four. The game is important, because they are just behind us and we want to increase the gap.
“We lost against Manchester City. Now we have a home game to get back to a winning atmosphere. It will not be easy.”
