The former Blues boss could make a return to Stamford Bridge, replacing interim manager Guus Hiddink once the season ends.

English Premier League giants Chelsea are still on the look for a long-term manager to take over the helms at Stamford Bridge for the upcoming 2016-17.

Despite naming Guus Hiddink as the successor to the sacked Jose Mourinho, the Dutchman is merely an interim boss expected to vacate the managerial seat once this campaign ends.

Several of Europe’s finest coaches have been linked with the Blues, stretching from Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola to Italian national team boss Antonio Conte.

However, the latest rumors speculate that Chelsea are looking within the Premier League for their next manager, and have found their ideal candidate.

According to Tuttosport, as per Goal, the London giants are plotting a move for current Leicester City tactician Claudio Ranieiri, a man familiar with the reigning Premier League champions.

The 64-year-old has been receiving rave reviews this season for working wonders with the Foxes, guiding them to second spot in the standings, level on points with league leaders Arsenal.

Claudio Ranieri, Jamie Vardy, Leicester City, English Premier League

The Italian manager was given the boot by Chelsea in May 2004 after leading them for four years, a reign which began in September of 2000, but a good relationship with owner Roman Abramovich could translate into a second spell with the Blues.

Coincidentally, Chelsea are rumored to be after joint top-scorer Jamie Vardy, a man Ranieri has insisted he will not sell in the summer. However, should the Italian jump ships, there is no guarantee the English striker won’t follow him to London.
