Manchester United are looking for a convincing win against struggling Newcastle United.

Struggling Premier League side Manchester United are gearing up for a trip to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United tonight.

Manchester United approach this fixture following a series of lacklustre displays that have attracted criticism from all corners, including their legendary player-cum-analyst, Paul Scholes. Moreover, Van Gaal recently admitted that he sometimes get bored watching the Red Devils play. The Old Trafford side have their defense to thank this season, given the fact that they have conceded few goals despite failing to score on numerous occasions.

Man United pulled a surprise win over Swansea City at the beginning of the year, but slowed down when they faced Sheffield United for their FA Cup fixture at Old Trafford. Despite winning by a solitary goal that came from captain Wayne Rooney, the 20-time Premier League champions provided an appalling display characterised by lack of creativity, passion or determination to penetrate their opponent’s defense line.

Morgan Schneiderlin could return to the midfield to replace the injured Bastian Schweinsteiger. However, if the Frenchman does not make it to the starting lineup, Van Gaal to deploy Marouane Fellaini, Andreas Pereira or Ander Herrera at the midfield, while Memphis Depay is expected to start along the flanks. Adnan Januzaj could also make a shocking return to the squad after rejoining the Red Devils from a disappointing loan spell with German giants Borussia Dortmund. He will offer more support to the striking duo of Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial upfront.
