The Citizens come into this match at the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Everton in the first leg of the League Cup Semi-Final. Another defeat would put Manuel Pellegrini's role as manager of Man City in jeopardy with rumours of Pep Guardiola's arrival looming large.
However the Chilean still has the backing of his players, particularly from Spanish winger Jesus Navas who has credited the former Real Madrid manager after getting on the score sheet in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Everton.
The former Sevilla man ended a 16 month goal drought with his last strike coming during the 7-0 mauling of Sheffield Wednesday back in September 2014.
"I always try to create a lot of chances, but maybe this season I have been unlucky when it came to scoring goals," he said.
"But this time I managed to score a goal which helps my confidence. Manuel has been helping me with this and I am grateful to him for the fact I scored."
There are concerns for Man City at the other end of the pitch with Eliaquim Mangala having joined captain Vincent Kompany on the sidelines after being withdrawn last time out against Everton. This means that Nicolas Otemendi and Martin Demichelis are poised to start at the heart of defence whereas Willy Caballero is set to feature in goal ahead of Joe Hart.
Wilfried Bony on the other hand is likely to return to the squad after missing the weekend encounter whereas youngster Kelechi Iheanacho might also feature.
Norwich come into this match in good form having picked two consecutive wins at the expense of Aston Villa and Southampton. Midfielder Vadis Odjidja is expected to start having made a positive impact during the 1-0 win over Southampton last time out.
The canaries are expected to welcome back Andre Wisdom and Matt Jarvis to the squad having recovered from hamstring and knee injuries respectively.
