Manchester City are reportedly preparing a record-breaking fee for Barcelona star.

FC Barcelona forward Neymar Jr has confirmed that English Premier League giants Manchester City have inquired about his services. The Brazil international has been outstanding for the Spanish giants this season and talks are at an advanced stage to extend his contract, which expires in 2018.

However, Barca are reportedly unable to afford the 23-year-old as fellow superstar Lionel Messi is allegedly pushing for a better deal with the Blaugrana. The same case applies to Luis Suarez, who makes up the famous attacking trio of MSN.

When asked about the probability of leaving Barca, Neymar refused to rule out a possible move out of the Camp Nou. He said:

''I don’t know. Life is long.’’

Regarding Manchester City’s interest in signing him, the former Santos man confirmed the news, but was hesitant to provide more details. To confirm the interest from The Citizens, he simply replied:

''Yes.’’

City are reportedly preparing to sign Pep Guardiola and hand him the authority to sign any player he wants under the sun. Sources close to the former Barca tactician reveal that if he joins the English giants, Neymar will top the list of his transfer targets.

Additionally, Neymar’s father has also been entertaining the idea of his son leaving Spain due to tax-related problems that have engulfed the talented forward in the recent past.
