One German superstar asked for a winter break in England!

Today is Christmas, and with everyone in a festive mood with family and friends, superstars of the English Premier League are training hard for Boxing Day.

The games come fast and hard during this period, with the likes of Arsenal, Man United, and Man City playing 3 games from December 26 to January 2.

With this in mind, the league’s official website sat with a number of players, asking them what they would like for Christmas that wouldn’t even cost a penny.

Nine players sat down to answer the question: Swansea’s Neil Taylor, Norwich City’s Andre Wisdom, Bournemouth’s Josh King, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, Tottenham’s Joshua Onamoh, Watford’s Ben Watson, Stoke City’s Marko Arnautovic, West Brom’s Rickie Lambert, and Man United's Michael Carrick.

The Gunners’ standout player of the season gave the standout answer of the day, asking for a winter break in England, having come to enjoy rest during this period whilst in Spain and Germany.

The more common answer among the 9 Premier League aces was more family time, with Rickie Lambert in particular claiming that “the biggest sacrifice you have as a player is Christmas”. Watch the video below.

All nine of these players are likely to feature in Boxing Day’s round of fixtures, with all 20 top-tier sides in action on Saturday the 26th.
