The Mexican striker has shown impressive form with Bayer Leverkusen, and one of the EPL's title contenders is plotting a move to sign him.

After just six months with Bayer Leverkusen, Javier Hernandez's wonderful season with Die Werkself could win him a ticket back to the Premier League.

Sources indicate that the Mexican striker would be Arsenal's top target in the summer transfer window, giving "Chicharito" the chance to play once again in the English top flight.

Hernández played four seasons for Manchester United, but ended up being loaned last year to Real Madrid. When Los Blancos refused to sign him for good last summer, United's coach Louis Van Gaal told the striker he had a 1% chance of playing with the Red Devils, forcing the Mexican to look for work elsewhere. During Transfer Deadline Day, Hernández signed with Bayer Leverkusen, where he has scored 19 goals in all competitions for the Aspirins, becoming the club's goal scoring leader.

Wenger & Co. are allegedly willing to spend 25 million euros to sign the Mexican, but Leverkusen's CEO, Michael Schade, denied the German club is interested in selling one of their biggest assets. "He's not for sale. We had high hopes with him, but he's surpassed them all. He's a crucial element for us, you could say he's our life insurance," Schade stated.

Hernández 11 goals in the ongoing Bundesliga season have him ranked 4th in the goal scoring charts, surpassed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang(18), Robert Lewandowski(15) & Thomas Müller(14).
