The Argentinean wingman gave all the credit to Laurent Blanc, who convinced him about leaving Manchester United to sign for Les Parisiens.

After a disappointing season with Manchester United, Angel Di Maria needed to change his fans' perception about him. Once the opportunity came for him to sign with PSG he never looked back, but Laurent Blanc was key for him to make up his mind and work for the current Ligue 1 champions.

"The first time we spoke, it was before I signed for PSG. This made me very happy. It happened the same way when Mourinho made me come to Real Madrid. They called me before and I spoke with them. Blanc called me when he was in the United States and I was still on holiday," Di Maria stated.

"He said he was very happy to recruit me, that he had wanted me for several seasons. Obviously, this gave me an added incentive to sign for PSG," the player added.

Di Maria's form with Les Parisiens has been superb, scoring more goals so far than the amount he racked with Manchester United. Furthermore, his antics playing in the UEFA Champions League have not been overlooked even by Real Madrid fans, who enjoyed his display against Los Blancos back in November.

This weekend, Di Maria provided three assists for his team-mates during a match against Lyon, which the Ligue 1 champions ended up winning 5-1. Before last season's start, Di Maria had agreed on terms to join the French side, but a massive offer by the Red Devils made him change his mind.
