Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid host Getafe this weekend at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ahead of this crucial fixture, the home side are facing various challenges, most recently the Denis Cheryshev saga that saw them banned from the Copa del Rey on Friday. However, the visitors do not seem to be much of a threat to their hosts. Getafe sit at the 14th position on the log with 14 points. They are tied with Rayo on points but lag behind them on goal difference.

However, their appearance on the 14th position may not be that ugly, since many people had expected them to be relegation candidates at this time of the season.

The visitors boast of the likes of Stefan Scepovic and Alvaro Vazquez, who have scored three goals each in the competition. The latter, however, has three assists to his name. They are well known for their high pace along the flanks, and they could use this to their advantage to ambush Los Blancos with quick counter-attacks. Unfortunately, despite their speedy type of football, they have only won one of their last six matches. Their most recent loss was against Ray in their Copa del Rey midweek match.

On the other hand, the hosts seem to have found their winning form after losing to their bitter rivals FC Barcelona in El Clasico last month. Since the defeat, they have beaten Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in a closely-contested match. They also beat Eibar in La Liga and then, they had a controversial midweek win over Cadiz, which led to their expulsion from Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player.

The attacking trio of BBC, which consists of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano is expected to return after being rested during Madrid’s midweek fixture against Cadiz. Luka Modric and either Toni Kroos, Casemiro or Jamez Rodriguez could start at the midfield. Mateo Kovacic could replace the suspended Isco, while Nacho, Arbeloa or Pepe could replace the injured Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Marcelo.
