The last time they faced each other was in the DFB Pokal final and Wolfsburg won. Dortmund has not won in Wolfsburg since April 2012.

The second and third best teams in the Bundesliga after 14 games will meet in Wolfsburg as the season is aboutto approach its midpoint. Borussia Dortmund will go into Volkswagen Arena trying to close the gap with Bayern Munich while Wolfsburg is hoping to get closer to Dortmund which is currently seven points ahead.

In their last five games, the home team has lost two times, drawn one and won the other two. Meanwhile, Dortmund come into this game having won three of their last five matches and losing the other two.

Wolfsburg can be confident of what they do at home works, as they have not lost a game there since March 2014. Whenever they drop points, it happens awa from home.

They are not an easy team to beat as they have the third strongest defense in the league with only 15 goals conceded. On the offensive side of the ball they have 24 goals, a number that is considered low after Kevin de Bruyne left the team to play with Manchester City. That makes them the fourth best offense in the Bundesliga.

To add to their offensive dissapointment, Wolfsburg was not able to beat Augsburg, a team that is ranked 16th in the league. A scoreless draw with a team that has the worst defense in the German Soccer league is definitely not something they were aiming for before their trip.

Borussia Dortmund ended a two-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Stuttgart. That two-game losing streak was the first time that Thomas Tuchel lost consecutive games as the manager of Borussia Dortmund since taking over for Jurgen Klopp.

They are heading to a venue where they have not won since April 2012, which makes it hard to predict a victroy by the Black and Yellow's. It also does not really matter where they play, since only one victory in those games has gone Dortmund's way.

One of the biggest loses of Dortmund against Wolfsburg came last season when the team then coached by Klopp was not able to beat Wolfsburg even after taking and early lead. The Wolfs beat them 3-1 in the final game of the DFB Pokal.

Chances of this game ending in a scoreless draw are fairly slim. These two teams have only finished with scoreless games two times over the past 18 years. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in top shape, it is hard to believe that will happen this time.
