Liverpool will be looking to continue their good run under Jurgen Klopp having won all of their last three matches. They will now be looking to make it to the semi-final of the League Cup when they face Southampton in the last eight.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has vowed to take the competition seriously but has refused to get carried away.
"In an ideal world, you need six angry players who are not in the squad, but that's not our situation," he told reporters. "It will be a puzzle, but it will be the strongest team, for sure.
"The biggest fault you can make is to think about the next round. Our focus is on Southampton only. They're pretty hot on this game, they've lost their last two games and they want to bounce back."
"We're still far away from the final. I'm excited and looking forward to the game, but you have to respect the situation."
The Reds will be further boosted by the return of captain Jordan Henderson as well as striker Daniel Sturridge who both featured from the bench in the 1-0 win over Swansea. Klopp has further granted support to his first choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and has reiterated that he will not be looking for a new number one when the transfer window opens in January.
Southampton on the other hand have suffered back to back defeats at the hands of Stoke and Manchester City, they will now be eager to bounce back. The Saints have just managed a single win in their last five fixtures against Liverpool.
When the two sides met earlier in the season the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Benteke opened up the scoring, but Sadio Mane equalised just four minutes before full time.
Liverpool enjoy a strong home record against Swansea, having won 11 of their 14 league encounters with Swansea, having lost none.
