They will only come back if there are deep changes in the organization of Venezuelan soccer. The players sent out a letter showing the reasons for their decision.

It is a normal thing to see one player try to part ways with their national team, but to see 15 do it at the same time and none of them in friendly terms may be a first this time. 15 players that have played for Venezuela's national team expressed via an open letter that they were leaving the team and not coming back.

The letter was directed to Venezuela's Soccer Federation's president Laureano González, who blamed the players for their negative results in the beginning of the World Cup Qualifiers and for plotting against their manager Noel Sanvicente. Gonzalez had used a media interview to give such declarations.

"These statements are completely false and violate our honor code and reputation," the players mentioned in the letter. "Throughout our career, we have learned sporting ethics codes where the situations and differences have been solved and talked about inside the dressing room and not out in public like the Federation does."

Tomás Rincón, Osvaldo Vizcarrondo, Salomón Rondón, Roberto Rosales, César González, Luis Manuel Ceijas, Franklin Lucena, Grenddy Perozo, José Martinez, Juan Falcón, Nicolás Fedor, Gabriel Cichero, Ronald Vargas, Alejandro Guerra and Christian Santos are the 15 players that will not play for the Vinotinto again.

The players added that the only way they could consider coming back to the national team is when other people are in charge of the team and the whole federation. They do not want to continue dealing with officials that do not respect the player's integrity and go beyond what is ethically correct.

Many of  the 15 players involved used social media to post the letter and add details of their broken relationship with the federation. While some fans saw it as a lack of commitment, others supported the footballers involved in this ordeal.
