The Citizens returned to winning ways after consecutive defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Juventus. They were against Southampton in their last encounter, a match they won by a 3-1 score line thanks to goals from De Bruyne, Fabian Delph and Kolarov.
Their win allowed them to return to the top of the Premier League table, with the Sky Blues currently on level points with the surprise package of the campaign, Leicester City.
Their opponents Hull City on the other hand suffered their first defeat since September in a 2-0 loss to Derby County which saw them surrender their top spot in the Championship. Captain Curtis Davies has warned his teammates to put forth an improved performance if they are to avoid being at a receiving end of a mauling.
"It is frustrating but it's the first time we have lost in a long while. We need to put things into perspective. And we need to go again on Tuesday against Manchester City because it will be a big game in terms of how we react," Davies told Hull's official website.
"It won't be the most important match for our season, but if you go there with your heads down you could be on the other end of a pasting.
Man City are expected to rest striker Sergio Aguero who was withdrawn in the match against Southampton. David Silva and Wilfried Bony are however poised to start against Hull.

Hull City have not defeated Man City in the last four meetings between the two sides. Their resolve will be reignited by the expected return of Robert Snodgrass to the side. Andrew Robertson will be available having served suspension, Michael Dawson who was also suspended for the match against Derby will remain out with a hamstring injury.
