Only Lionel Messi and Telmo Zarra are above him. He surpassed Hugo Sánchez with his goal against Eibar.

Cristiano Ronaldo had not scored a goal in La Liga since October 31 and he did it this Sunday against Las Palmas helping Real Madrid win 2-0 and climbing up the ladder in a very special ranking. After sharing the third spot of all-time leading scorers with Hugo Sanchez for almost a month, CR7 is now on his own.

In this game, Ronaldo scored his 235th game in the Spanish competition since Joining La Liga in 2009. He is now only behind Telmo Zarra who has 251 and Lionel Messi that is in the lead with 290 and counting. It is important to mention that Messi has played with Barcelona since 2004, a five-year lead over Ronaldo.

Sunday was a good day for Ronaldo

This goal came from a penalty kick awarded to Real Madrid in the second half of the game and with it, the Merengues secured the victory over Eibar, a week and one day after losing to Barcelona 0-4 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo risked his chances going down the middle with his shot but it worked as it was a goal.

CR7 is now in fourth place of the season-leading scorers with nine goals and five behind Barecelona's star Neymar Jr. The 30-year-old Portuguese striker has been doing better in the Champions League where he has scrored seven goals in five games compared to the nine in 13 during the domestic competition.
