The embarrasng 4-0 defeat to bitter rivals FC Barcelona has prompted Real Madrid president to call a press briefing slated for today evening.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has called a press briefing scheduled for today evening to address key issues concerning the club. There have been rumours circulating in some sections of Spanish media regarding the future of coach Rafael Benitez and the future of key players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Ronaldo has been linked with a possible move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain and his former club Manchester United. On the other hand, Bale has been linked with a possible move to Man United after facing a frustrating, injury-prone season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

During last Saturday’s El Clasico, Ronaldo was booed by a section of Real Madrid fans who believed that the 30-year-old was not anywhere near what he used to be in terms of performance. They instead cheered their rival Andres Iniesta who had a wonderful game and summed it up with a beautiful goal for the Catalans.
