Chelsea are struggling to score goals in the Premier League this season and are keen on signing a proven finisher after gambling on Radamel Falcao.

Premier League champions Chelsea have been linked to a possible deal with Fenerbahce striker Robin Van Persie. The former Arsenal and Manchester United forward was previously linked to a move to FC Barcelona. However, just like Mourinho hijacked Pedro’s pending move to the Red Devils earlier this season, reports in England suggest that the Portuguese manager is keen on redirecting the flying Dutchman to the Stamford Bridge.

Van Persie has had a difficult season in Turkey and could be on his way back to England

For Van Persie to fit into the Blue’s squad, Mourinho is considering selling Colombian striker Radamel Falcao to Valencia in January. The 32-year-old has been struggling with life in Turkey but his epic performances in England while playing for Arsenal and Manchester United still make him a top transfer target back to the Premier League.

According to Metro, Chelsea could offer the Turkish club £9.1 million for the striker during the January transfer window, a deal that would be quite difficult to resist.

This season, Diego Costa performance’s has been below average compared to last season when he scored 20 goals for the English side.  The former Atletico Madrid man has only scored two Premier League goals for Chelsea this season and worse still, the likes of Remy, Falcao and Hazard have disappointed on several occasions.

In Spain, Barcelona are looking for the perfect addition to assist the on-fire trio of Neymar, Suarez and Messi, hence, Van Persie has been identified as the best option. The Dutchman has only scored four Super Lig goals for the Turkish giants this season and made one assist.
