Celtic lost to Molde 1-3 in their most recent match in Group A. Celtic is unbeaten in their last five European home games.

A loss of 3-1 was not what Celtic expected to get out of their visit to Molde in Norwegian territory and now they hope to set the record straight when they host Molde at Celtic Park in Glasgow. The home team desperately needs the win as they are in last place with only two points after three games.

Molde is the leader of the group with seven points. To make things worst for the home team, they have not been able to beat a team from Norway in their last two opportunities. Both of those games were played on the road, but when it comes to playing at home, they are two for two (wins).

Celtic seems to be far out from where they were last season, where they made it to the Round of 32. One year later, they have to step their game up and hope that things work their way in the last three games of the group stage.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær was reappointed as the coach for Molde in their game against  Celtic and even that way they were able to come out with a clear win. Now, with more that three weeks working with the team, it could be interesting if things have improved for him or if Celtic learned from what Molde's coach likes.

Celtic has an interesting group of Norweigan players that have even played with some of Molde's current squad members. Stefan Johansen played with Molde's Ola Kamara at Strømsgodset IF, with which he won the  2013 Norwegian title. Celtic's Sweden right-back Mikael Lustig played with Rosenborg (2008–11), where Molde's Mushaga Bakenga was also part of the team.

So there are some friendships between the two teams, but when the game starts this Thursday, friendship takes a step to the side and both teams will try to aim for Europa League glory. A win can give Molde the points they need to get to the next round, as three points could get Celtic back in the game.
