Tevez scored five goals in 12 games this season. He considers it as the best moment of his entire career.

Carlos Tevez could have continued playing in Europe but after a successful run with Juventus, he decided it was time to head back home and return with the team that saw him grow, Boca Juniors. Sunday night in Argentina, that decision paid off nicely as the team won the Argentinian Primera División title for the first time.

"El Apache" may not have been the key to the title, as he only scored five goals in 11 games since his arrival over the summer. What is really impressive how he has become a champion with almost every team he has played for. He has won league titles with Boca, Juventus, Manchester City and Corinthians in Brazil.

Juventus congratulated Tevez for the accomplishment

Not many players can brag about this

Carlos Tevez had last lifted a title with Boca Juniors back in 2003. 12 years later, at the age of 31, Tevez has relived what it is like to be a champion with the club he has belonged to since 1997. Two league titles, one Copa Libertadores title and one Copa Sudamericana championship are just some of his accomplishments with the team.

With one game to go in the domestic league this year, Boca Juniors secured the title with a 1-0 win over Tigre. The game was decided with a header by Fabian Monzon that ended at the back of the net following a corner kick executed by Nicolas Lodeiro in the 41st minute of the game.

That result, combined with a loss of Rosario Central to Banfield, was all that Boca Juniors needed to earn their 31st league title. River Plate is still the team with the most titles in Argentina with 35.  With Tevez back in the roster of his beloved team, the squad has won the title they desperately needed to ease off some pressure.

“It’s difficult to talk right now, I’m really emotional. These boys needed a championship to take the pressure off — now they will be a new Boca,” Tevez said. “I’m very happy, I came back here so that I could feel this again.”

Tevez was offered more money by other teams, but he wanted something else

After 29 games played, Boca Juniors has won 20 games, tied four and lost five with 28 goals in their favor and 23 against. They now have 64 points and San Lorenzo is back with 58 while Rosario Central has 56.
