Borussia Dortmund's striker has shown an impressive form during the first two months of Bundesliga action, scoring 17 goals for the yellow and black side in all competitiions.

One of the most exciting players to watch this season has been, without a doubt, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Gabon's superstar has made a name for himself with his goalscoring skills, and given his recent performances, Borussia's striker believes he could be a true contender to win the Golden Shoe this year, ahead of the usual winners: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

"I do not want to let up. I said a few years ago that I want to become a striker who gets 40 goals a season and I am working hard to achieve just that. If Cristiano Ronaldo can score 50 goals in one season, why should I not be able to do the same? I aim to become one of the best strikers in the world,"Aubameyang stated in an interview.

Aubameyang has already been rumored to be one of Barcelona's main targets for the upcoming transfer window.

Having displayed an impressive form this season, the African player is five goals shy of equalizing his best tally with Borussia Dortmund. Looking back into his earlier performances, Aubameyang noticed he's gotten better as years have gone by.

"I have improved a lot in front of goal and have become much more clinical. I have come a long way and it is nice to be rewarded now. But this is by no means the end just yet," the striker concluded.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang is not the only one who loves to challenge Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. In a recent interview, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent expressed his opinion, stating:

"He [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] is better than anybody; Better than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

"I don't know anybody who is six foot four and a half with the skills of Messi and the strength of Ronaldo,"he agent revealed.
