MARCA readers have voiced their over who they want as the winner of the Ballon d'Or for the 2016 edition and shockingly enough Cristiano Ronaldo is not the fan-favorite for the Madrid-based media outlet. The fans gave Messi the lead in a survey where there even had Neymar Jr. and Luis Suarez completing the top three.
If MARCA readers are able to predict the future, it would mean that Ronaldo would be out of the best three candidates for the first time in the last five years. Ronaldo recently won the Golden Boot for a record-breaking fourth time and the award was presented by the same newspaper.
The MSN trio has even earned the respect of MARCA readers

A big part of Ronaldo's fanbase is in Madrid, the city where he lives in, but most of them seem to have turned their backs on the three-time Ballon d'Or winner. Lionel Messi, who lives and plays in a city that most Madridistas don't like, is given a clear lead over CR7.
Messi had 26.8% of the votes from those that were surveyed. Neymar Jr. followed with 19.9% and 17.5% of the votes went to Luis Suarez. It is unclear how many votes did Ronaldo receive in this survey.
Intruder causes excitement in PSG vs Real Madrid match
The survey was done before Cristiano Ronaldo faced Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. The Portuguese striker was not able to give his team the lead even though he had a couple of clear chances to do so. Now, the 30-year-old player has had to deal with a lot of criticism.

In what many fans considered a very boring match, there was something that caught the attention and it had nothing to do with what the players did on the field. During the game, a man ran into the field and directly to where CR7 was standing. He gave him a quick hug before being escorted away by security.
Probably 20 seconds that this fan will remember for a lifetime

It was a moment that lasted no more than 20 seconds. It was a moment that fans in the stadium and around social media really enjoyed as there was not much to cheer about in a game that ended with a scoreless draw. The Ballon d'Or award will be given in Januar and CR7 still has time to gain the love of more fans until then.
