The German boss broke his silence over the prospect of taking over the helms at Anfield.

It’s no secret, manager-less Liverpool are after Jurgen Klopp.

After terminating Brendan Rodgers’ contract shortly after the club’s 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Merseyside derby, rumors were quick to link the Reds with the former BVB boss, and rightfully so.

Klopp has long been linked with an array of English Premier League sides, with the likes of even Manchester United and Arsenal once believed to be likely destinations for 48-year-old.

Jurgen is target number one on Liverpool’s list, yet the German manager is not getting ahead of himself, as he remained tight-lipped over the prospect of taking over the helms at Anfield, revealing little to the media.

Klopp was in his home country when a reporter from popular tabloid BILD raised the issue of the Liverpool managerial seat, probing this answer from the German boss:

"There's nothing to say.”

"Neither a definite yes nor a definite no. I'm going home now," Kloppo said as he walked away in laughter.

Will it be long before Klopp touches the Anfield sign once again?

Jurgen Klopp, BVB, Liverpool, English Premier League

Belief is that Liverpool owners FSG, who promised to hastily find a replacement to the previous northern Irish coach, have already made contact with Jurgen Klopp, beginning official talks, with the hopes of quickly tying him down to a three-year contract.

The English Premier League giants are hopeful that the deal can be sealed in time for Klopp to be in charge for their trip to Tottenham, on October 17, once club football resumes.
