The Colombian midfielder got injured in a game between his national team and Peru on September 8. Gareth Bale could also be recovered by the weekend.

What was a big injury list during September, starts to clear up this October as James Rodriguez is the first player to recover from an injury and declare himself ready for Sunday's game against Atletico Madrid. The Colombian is back ahead of schedule from a thigh injury he suffered while playing for Colombia.

It was in an international friendly against Peru that the Golden Boot winner from Brazil 2014, Rodriguez had to leave the pitch in the 59th minute. The game would end 1-1 but the bad news is that the 24-year old player would have to miss a month of action.

The Colombian player had been tweeting pictured of his recovery process

Danilo, Gareth Bale and Serio Ramos also got injured around the same time. Meanwhile, Madrid has been able to remain undefeated but struggling against teams like Malaga (0-0) and Granada (1-0). The return of James to the pitch comes at a perfect time for Rafa Benitez, after winning their Champions League match agaisnt Malmo 2-0.

Madrid is currently in third place of La Liga, behind Barcelona and Villarreal. The team was in first place for only one week but failed to take advantage against Javi Garcia's side and ended with a scoreless draw at the Santiago Bernabeu. Now they visit Cholo Simeone's side who just lost at home against Benfica in the UCL 2-1.

There is also a chance that Gareth Bale could be ready for this match. The Welshman limped out of the field in the victory of Madrid 4-0 over Shakhtar Donetsk in their UCL opener. Even better for Madrid, there is a possibility for Danilo and Sergio Ramos to be called for the trip to El Calderon as well.

Real Madrid fans are happy about this type of news
