The Spanish shot-stopper, who had a falling out with Louis Van Gaal, has shown interest in leaving the Red Devils during the upcoming transfer window.

Victor Valdes' nightmare with Manchester United could be almost over, since sources in England state that the club would agree to release the Spanish goalkeeper before the end of his contract.

Valdés was set to become Manchester United's starting goalkeeper for this season's first games, but coach Louis Van Gaal accused him of not arriving on time to one of the team's meetings, showing poor commitment to the club. The Dutch coach decided to exclude him from the squad that made the trip to the United States for the pre-season tour, and his name has never been included in any of this tournament's lineups.

Despite their intentions of letting Valdes go, the Red Devils are trying to include a clause forbidding Valdes to sign a contract with any Premier League side, given the recent interest shown by Liverpool to add the shot-stopper to their squad. If Valdes ends up joining the Reds this season, the Spaniard would need to pay an undisclosed fee to Manchester United.

Valdes has played only two competitive games since March of 2014, when he came down with a knee injury while playing for Barcelona. Valdes was supposedly joining Monaco the following year, but Monaco's physicians stated he wasn't fully recovered. He joined United in January of 2015.
