The Manchester United player broke his leg in two places during the game against PSV Eindhoven. Hector Moreno apologized for what happened to the player right after the game.

The bad news keep coming for Luke Shaw after breaking his leg as a result from a tackle by Hector Moreno during the Champions League game between Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven. After having to undergo surgery the night of the match, now Shaw is scheduled for another surgery on Friday.

It was Shaw's tibia and fibula what got damaged during the game. The first surgery was perfomed at the St Anna Ziekenhuis Hospital in the outskirts of Eindhoven. The second procedure should be done at the same place before Shaw is allowed to travel back to England.

While the club has not commented on the situation, it seems like this was part of the process all along. As the rest of the team is already back in Manchester for their upcoming game against Southampton, it is Shaw's parents who have been by his side this whole time.

Doctors that have been working with Shaw considered it was a "quick break", so the recovery could be quicker than the one in most cases of a broken leg. Louis Van Gaal claimed that his player could be back by March if everything goes according to plan.

"It is about how it develops. You can never say that in advance. He will not play in the group phase I think. I hope he can play again this season," Van Gaal said to the media earlier this week.

The Red Devils have started looking for someone to replace Shaw as soon as possible. The former Arsenal and Chelsea player is currently a free agent since he cut ties with Roma a year before his contract expired. The 34-year-old central back is the man LVG is looking at to take the position of the 20-year-old defender.
