Who qualified for the 2015-16 UEFA Champions League?

Serie A's two representatives in the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League will be last season's runners-up Juventus as well as Roma, who finished second in the league. Although at the conclusion of last season, Roma's city rivals Lazio also earned a Champions League spot, the Biancocelesti were unable to find a way past Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, losing 3-1 on aggregate and so will have to try their luck in the Europa League.

Who qualified for the 2015-16 UEFA Europa League?

Fiorentina and Napoli, both of whom made it to the semi-finals in last season's edition, have again secured their spots in the Europa League after finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Although they finished in sixth, Genoa were denied a spot due to their failure to obtain a UEFA license and as such, their berth was given to their cross-town rivals Sampdoria. However, the Blucerchiati were defeated 4-2 on aggregate by Serbian side Vojvodina during the third qualifying round, so the Viola and the Partenopei will be joined by Lazio.

What were the biggest summer transfers?

Following the departure of key trio Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal, and Carlos Tevez, Juventus wasted little time diving into the transfer market to bring in reinforcements. The reigning Serie A champions reportedly spent over €100 million on a slew of experienced players and rising young stars, with Paulo Dybala, Sami Khedira, Mario Mandzukic, Neto, Alex Sandro, Juan Cuadrado, and Hernanes being among the new faces in a Bianconeri kit this season.

Last season's runners-up Roma also made some changes, including Premier League trio Mohamed Salah, Edin Dzeko, and Wojciech Szczesny on loan. The Giallorossi also made sure combative midfielder Rajda Nainggolan stays at the Stadio Olimpico on a permanent basis after resolving the Belgian international's co-ownership deal with Cagliari for a reported €9 million.

After missing out on European football due to their poor showings, AC Milan and Inter also splashed some cash this summer in their quest to improve their fortunes this season. The Rossoneri forked over €80 million to bring in Luiz Adriano, Carlos Bacca, and others to bolster their attack and defense. By far, though, the signing that generated quite a bit of buzz was the return of former striker Mario Balotelli to the San Siro - despite the Liverpool attacker not costing anything - and it will be interesting to see how the reunion between player and club plays out this season.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri were even more active than their cross-town rivals as Roberto Mancini seeks to totally overhaul his squad. Geoffrey Kondogbia, Miranda, Stevan Jovetic, Ivan Perisic, Felipe Melo, and Adem Ljajic are among the players Inter fans will become familiar with during this season.

What were the biggest managerial changes before the start of the season?

For the second straight summer, Milan President Silvio Berlusconi opted to dismiss his manager. This time, it was Pippo Inzaghi making way for Sinisa Mihajlovic, who had resigned from his post from Sampdoria at the end of last season. Other teams who made managerial changes include Napoli, who brought in former Empoli coach Maurizio Sarri for the departing Rafa Benitez, and Fiorentina, who now have Paulo Sousa on the tactician's bench in lieu of Vincenzo Montella.
