Costa Rica will host Uruguay at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica on Tuesday, the 8th of September in a friendly match. Check the live TV and online streaming broadcast listings for Costa Rica vs Uruguay below.

Both the sides played part in fixtures which ended 1-0 but had conflicting implications. Costa Rica were against Brazil in a match which was settled trough a solitary goal from Hulk.

Uruguay on the other hand were able to record a victory over Panama as Stuani scored the only goal of the match. Uruguay however will have to do without the likes of star forwards Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, both of whom are suspended for the match. Keeping that in mind manager Oscar Tabarez has kept his expectations low as his side prepares for the World Cup Qualification campaign.

"I do not expect miracles," said Tabarez. "I've been in football for a few years and I know it takes time.

"I think the potential of the players who are here at this time means we should not be overly optimistic, but we can at least have expectations."

"We have to improve, but some very important players are missing," he added.

Costa Rica coach Oscar Ramirez on the other hand believes the friendly matches will allow his team to build a personality and has also insisted that he will be aiming to give more young players a chance after giving 21 year old Ronald Matarrita a debut in the match against Brazil.

"We debuted a boy, which must be a dream for many players, and we are investing for the future," said Ramirez.

"I think having this kind of game gives us personality. You have to face various ways playing against teams – for example, we were on a neutral ground against Brazil – but maybe here we will play United States in qualifying [for the World Cup]."

Ramirez will be taking charge of only his second game as head coach of Costa Rica and is likely to implement a five man defence. With Keylor Navas given a break following a transfer dead line day fiasco, Ramirez will also be keen to explore other options in goal with Esteban Alvarado likely to start.

“Five on the backline is an option that I think can give us a certain stability on defense," he said.

“Still I like to change it at anytime, to be flexible and see how the players respond to my variations.”

The two sides last met in November 2014 when the match ended 3-3 in full time and was settled through penalty shoot outs which Costa Rica won 7-6.
